Dear Notre Dame Families:

It is my hope to bring new and exciting ideas to Notre Dame in an effort provide our students with a true 21st Century Education. Today’s education is much, much more than lessons taught in the classroom. Teachings in and of the Faith are becoming more and more important as we increasingly see evil in the world. Because of this we have decided to start a new tradition at NDCS! Starting in the summer of 2015 junior high students will have the opportunity to attend an international service trip. It will likely be a different destination every year, but the Dominican Republic will be our first stop.

I have personally found no single experience more fulfilling than service to others. We are taught to serve, but how often are we taught how, or what it truly means? The trip is designed to not only be educational, but truly a fun-filled experience that will inspire our students. The icing on the cake? The trip is not just for students! Because summer is a time for families to be together, parents will not only be permitted, but encouraged to go. We will have our first informational meeting in the gym next Thursday, September 11th at 6pm.

(NOTE: For families with current 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.) Please make every effort to attend.

In Faith & Education,

Donovan Garletts
